History of ALSA

The ASEAN Law Students' Association was established in 1989 composed of the member countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. In 2002, they came to the idea of extending its scope of membership in order to enhance the achievement of its objective. At the Asian Forum held in Japan after the Korean Conference, the Tokyo Agreement was signed, marking the merging of the ASEAN Law Students’ Association, the International Law Students’ Association of Peking University, the Law Association, Hong Kong University Students’ Union (LA, HKUSU), ALSA Japan, ALSA Korea, and ALSA Taiwan into a single association we know today. ALSA has grown and improved to be a professional, non-political, non-profit organization as the place for its members to excel in their legal skills, critical minds, communication, and connection. As an organization that includes 18 National Chapters, ALSA has been a place for culture fusion throughout Asia. ALSA Indonesia as a National Chapter and a home for its 15 Local Chapter, continues to grow and set examples on how law students should be prepared to fit in the global area.

GREETINGS

Om Swastyastu,

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.,

Shalom,

Namo Buddhaya,

May Peace be Upon Us All,

Warm greetings, Everyone!

With sincere praise and gratitude to Almighty God for His unwavering guidance and blessings, we continue our commitment to advancing the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA), a non-profit and non-political organization devoted to building meaningful linkages among law students throughout Asia.

The ALSA Local Chapter of Universitas Udayana (ALSA LC Unud) stands as one of the 15 Local Chapters under ALSA National Chapter Indonesia and forms part of its 16 national branches. Since its establishment in 2012, ALSA LC Unud has consistently pursued growth by implementing initiatives aligned with the four foundational ALSA pillars. These pillars Legally Skilled, Academically Committed, Internationally Minded, and Socially Responsible, remain the guiding values that shape ALSA as a leading international forum for aspiring legal professionals.

Entering the year 2025, ALSA LC Unud reaffirms its vision and mission as the compass for its organizational direction. This year’s vision aspires to develop ALSA LC Unud into a professional, family-oriented, and innovative organization. To realize this aspiration, four missions have been formulated: strengthening the capabilities of both the organization and its members, fostering a supportive and familial environment within the management, advancing members’ legal expertise and competencies, and promoting collaborative and creative initiatives.

In our efforts to sustain progress and achieve long-term organizational development, we wholeheartedly invite the support and participation of all stakeholders. We believe that through constructive collaboration, ALSA LC Unud and its partners can jointly create lasting and mutually beneficial outcomes.

Finally, we are honored to present the Official Website of ALSA Local Chapter Universitas Udayana for the 2024–2025 term. This platform has been designed to provide accessible, comprehensive, and up-to-date information for all audiences. We hope that it serves as a valuable resource and offers deeper insight into the activities, values, and aspirations of ALSA LC Unud.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Best regards,
