ALSA
The ASEAN Law Students' Association was established in 1989 composed of the member countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. In 2002, they came to the idea of extending its scope of membership in order to enhance the achievement of its objective. At the Asian Forum held in Japan after the Korean Conference, the Tokyo Agreement was signed, marking the merging of the ASEAN Law Students’ Association, the International Law Students’ Association of Peking University, the Law Association, Hong Kong University Students’ Union (LA, HKUSU), ALSA Japan, ALSA Korea, and ALSA Taiwan into a single association we know today. ALSA has grown and improved to be a professional, non-political, non-profit organization as the place for its members to excel in their legal skills, critical minds, communication, and connection. As an organization that includes 18 National Chapters, ALSA has been a place for culture fusion throughout Asia. ALSA Indonesia as a National Chapter and a home for its 15 Local Chapter, continues to grow and set examples on how law students should be prepared to fit in the global area.
GREETINGS
Om Swastyastu,
Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.,
Shalom,
Namo Buddhaya,
May Peace be Upon Us All,
Warm greetings, Everyone!
First of all, I would like to thank God for blessing ALSA Local Chapter Universitas Udayana (ALSA LC Unud) and allowing it to serve as a home for its members for 12 years, while continuing to grow. Furthermore, I would like to express my respect and gratitude to all members, alumni, and partners who have accompanied our Local Chapter on its journey thus far.
Asian Law Students' Association (ALSA) is a non-profit and non-political organization that serves as a platform for progress on an Asian scale. ALSA has 4 pillars that serve as a foundation for development, including legally skilled, internationally minded, academically committed, and socially responsible.
ALSA comprises 18 National Chapters, with ALSA Indonesia being one of the founding fathers of ALSA International. ALSA Indonesia is further divided into 15 Local Chapters, among which ALSA LC Unud was established in 2012 as a full member of ALSA Indonesia.
During this period, ALSA LC Unud is committed to fostering an environment where its members can grow, akin to a nurturing home. This commitment serves as a guiding principle for us as we organize effective work programs, enhance the academic and non-academic quality of our members, and empower them to be productive, supportive, and synergistic. We aspire for ALSA LC Unud to cultivate human resources equipped to tackle future challenges, benefiting from the opportunities provided within this nurturing environment.
